Vallelado garlic is a softneck variety originating from the Segovia region of Northern Spain. It is well-suited for cultivation in cooler climates, making it more tolerant of wet and cold conditions compared to other Spanish garlic types. The harvesting period ranges from June to August, and it requires cold conditions to develop optimally. This garlic produces bulbs that are typically 35mm or larger, characterized by a white exterior with attractive pink markings. Each bulb contains 8 to 10 cloves, which are known for their fat, juicy texture and excellent flavor. Vallelado garlic is also noted for its good storage qualities, remaining viable until at least February when harvested properly.
