Characteristics
The beans are deep purple when growing, transforming to a vibrant green upon cooking. The plants feature attractive magenta flowers and produce medium-sized pods, approximately 15 cm (6 inches) in length, which are borne above the foliage for easy harvesting. This early-maturing, bushy plant reaches a height of about 45 cm (18 inches) and spreads to around 30 cm (12 inches). Its compact size makes it suitable for smaller gardens and containers. The Purple Teepee beans are stringless and have a delicious flavor, making them a versatile addition to various dishes. They are best enjoyed fresh, but can also be lightly boiled or sautéed.
