Climbing Flat Bean Helda is a medium-early variety with flat pods, popular for its tenderness and taste. The pods are good for slicing and can be picked over a long period. This high-yielding crop is used by both home gardeners and professionals for early and late greenhouse crops. The variety is also known for its resistance to bean mosaic virus. The beans are similar to French beans and can be grown outside or under glass/tunnel. They are a favorite among chefs and have been voted as the tastiest home-grown bean on BBC Gardener's World. The pods are long, flat, and broad, and the variety is well-suited for keeping in the freezer. In some parts of Europe, these beans are also known as "snijbonen" or "cutting beans" and are traditionally consumed.
