Brussels Sprouts Irene F1 is a hybrid variety of Brussels sprouts that was developed for the convenience of growers. It is not known for its taste, and heirloom varieties are recommended for better flavor. When cooking Brussels sprouts, it is suggested to cut or snip the sprouts from the stalk and sort them by size into piles. Each size should be cooked separately, and the cooking time should be adjusted accordingly. Braising is also a good cooking option. It is rare for the stalk to become tender when cooked, but if you want to try it, remove and discard any plant leaves, inspect the sprouts closely, and remove any bruised or yellowed outer leaves.
